Culture Friday: The Beer-Walbrunn Days in Kohlberg
The composer Anton Beer-Walbrunn was long considered forgotten. At the Beer-Walbrunn Days in Kohlberg, his work has now been brought to life again – with harmonium, readings, and a great deal of passion.
Max Reger – you probably know him. The composer and organist lived from 1873 to 1916 and is omnipresent in Weiden. There is the Max Reger Hall, the Max Reger Days, the Max Reger School. Weiden is Max Reger's city. But to be precise, Reger was neither born nor died in Weiden. Anton Beer-Walbrunn, from Kohlberg, lived at the same time. And even though he was actually born in Kohlberg, he is much less well known there.
