Lars David Kellner presents the hitherto most comprehensive recording of all piano works by Leos Janáček. In his interpretation the pianist reverts to the earliest versions of each composition. Besides familiar titles like “On an overgrown path” or “In the mists” the 3 CDs include songs, miniatures and fragments, some of which are world premiere recordings. Furthermore the complete “National dances in Moravia” are recorded by the artist, for the first time. Even the well-known piano works reveal previously unheard tonal material in their original versions. Kellner’s Janáček-compilation includes a live recording of the concert premiere of the “Album for Kamila Stösslová” in which music and text recitation are authentically combined. Some bonus videos of the recording session round up the comprehensive picture of Janáček’s compositional oeuvre for piano solo.
